Did anyone see the TV news report on lunchtime news.Familys are being advised not to read Fairytales to there children.Example Sleeping Beauty being kissed while she was asleep.apparently this encourages taking advantage of people with out consent.

Do fairytales influance behaviour in later life.?Personallyi can’t believe that there are individuals who are now targeting some thing that has been part of childhood for years Pantomime season coming up.Banner waving out side theatres next.

It affects all kinds of people in funny ways. Only last week I was strolling along the beach and witnessed a horrible assault, a man beating a woman with a stick while shouting "That's the way you do it!" in a funny voice, their baby was wailing and then a crocodile turned up and stole a string of sausages from them. Shocking, it was.

I can't see anything wrong with revising tales and creating new ones which reflect current values more effectively'; anything which helps children learn to be more considerate and caring for others is fine by me, and anything which challenges patriarchal views even more so.
