Fast heartbeat after ride

Sometimes a fair amount...I had some apple crumble after that ride.

IME, ride followed by food could kick off AF, think it's an increase in blood pressure

I agree about the normally elevated, what was more of my concern was him feeling fatigued with a heart rate of 38 bpm.

That’s hardly a lot nor a balanced meal. Better with lashings of custard

It was a big bowl! Plenty of cream as well. Plus I had dinner before the ride.

Yes that's does sound low with tired element as well. Missed that point. Really low heart rate could lead to fainting or circulation problems . See doctor/cardiac specific doctor.
