Father browns bike

Mrs roadrash regularly watches father brown on telly, if youve not seen it, its about a priest come detective that rides his bike around a fictional village called kembleford in the cotswolds solving all manner of crimes.the mrs asked me what his bike is, I dont know , soooo....

question is .....does anybody know what type his bike is.

The headbadge and fork bridge would seem to suggest it's an older Pashley...

I think you're onto something there ... the sweep of the 'y' seems to be present and the outer edge matches the Pashley badge outline:

they must use more than one bike too, when watching I noticed newer brake levers aswell

I'm not sure the bike itself is period. I think it's been repainted camouflaged to look older than it is.

Schwalbe tyres, square taper chainset, shiny brake levers. Poking around the Pashley website suggests it's a Roadster.

The were always looking for the easy life. Father Brown books are set in the early 20th century, but for some reason they moved it to the fifties. My guess is it still gets the innocent nostalgia, but it's a lot less work to dial the clock back 60 years than 100.a
