I hope to go for a ride with mine.
If he can get on with drops he's on the Carbon Uberbike, otherwise the 531 tourer, or the SS, or the Brommie.
Either way, beer and food will be involved.
I can't really say it to him, but I love my Dad. And I'm sure he knows it.

It's always mildly irritated me that in our house Mothers Day has to be celebrated in time honoured fashion yet when Father's Day comes around???? If I'm lucky a large bar of Cadbury's fruit and nut will be involved and that's it.

Go on, tell him. It'll make his day, and give him a hug too.
As we were leaving after first meeting my future parents-in-law, I asked my wife why she didn't hug her dad. She said she thought he he didn't like that sort of thing, so next time she did... it was lovely seeing the delight on his face!

I have suddenly discovered a real piece of synchronicity/ coincidence. The Hugo Boss aftershave in the spherical bottle with orange trim lasts almost exactly six months if you use it at the rate that I do. That means that the kids can get me a bottle for Christmas, and it will have run out by the time Father's day comes around. Spooky.

But it means I shall have to pay for a pair of Crud Roadracers out of my pocket money.

I nearly did last night...
It's amazing what 4 pints and a G+T can do to one.

I'll try and do it tomorrow. God, I'm feeling all slushy.

My kids have bought me my first cycling shirt. Though it's Sergio Tachini, so I think it's meant to be for tennis, but hey-ho. Better than a sweaty cotton t-shirt. I'll give it a whirl once I've recovered from the lurg.

Fancy that, I got a bottle of the Hugo Boss aftershave in the round bottle with the orange trim, and an MD80 helmet cam. Oh, and a full english breakfast in bed.

Guinness and the latest Martina Cole novel for my Dad, and I got spoiled rotten by little Ms. Admin who'd made some cards and pictures, brought me breakfast in bed, and then sat and told me about all the presents she'd got me (oh, and then remembered to go and get them and bring them into the bedroom ... ).

James Patterson and Bernard Cornwell books; a little jackpot jelly bean machine (the beans won't make it past lunchtime!!), and a Toblerone (which little Ms. Admin is helping me eat at a rapid rate ... ).

A lovely morning so far, and if I get my backside into gear and go and get showered and shaved now, I should be able to get a ride in before having to head off to see the rest of the family.

Cheers,
Shaun

Barnet,
I took my old Dad, who is now 85 up the pub and bought him a beer or two. I got nothing from my two kids, 21 and 23.

Ps, I cooked breakfast this morning for everyone before going out for a ride, and now I am cooking Roast lamb for dinner. Am I doing something wrong?
