First time that I have seen it and that is now my favorite ad.

I don't watch live TV. I record everything and normally quickly skip through any ads when watching later but a friend was here and insisted on watching that all the way through every time that it was shown last night ...

Some of the old ads stick in my mind, particularly Consulate (cool as a mountain stream), the Hamlet ones and the Guiness ads.

Mind, I am a non smoker and hardly drink, so they can't have been that good.

I like the old ads for Thompsons water seal. In essence, a burly builder sort with a Danny Dyer type menacing cockney attitude would walk on screen and basically threaten you if you didn't buy some. It frit me up so bad I was straight down B&Q to do as I was told.

I think I was paying about 13% on my mortgage at that time. Really made the pips squeak!
