Your trike looks epic! It must be frustrating though, with places not being accessible by trikes
Not all is lost Here are more photos of the Sustran 2 route outside of Newhaven ( top 2 photos ) A real cycle track though the " wild life " area - a real cycle track 60 feet away from the main A259
Over the past year with these cycle path frustrations we have redesigned and built these full size but more compact trikes . taking the wheelbase down and narrowing the track we have now developed a pair of e-trikes that fit through most of the barriers that stopped the bigger Voyager e-trike .
Weighing under 75lb with lithium batteries and rack and empty panniers . The next modification will be to use pushchair hamster bags as these look nicer than panniers on the rear .
Shown here along the under cliff walk ( now open for cyclist to use ) between Saltdean and Brighton
( Brighton Marina is in the distance ) not exactly part of the Sustran 2 route but a little detour along the coast avoiding the hills between Saltdean and Brighton , Its a nice run as there is a cafe at ovingdean that does nice tea and cake at the bottom of the cliff .
These e-trikes ( code named the 20/20s ) just fit the narrower gaps so all is not lost and these small wheel e-trikes are lighter and with one inside the estate and one on the roof we can as they say ---- Have trikes will travel !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is a build log thread in the Recumbent / HPV part of this forum
