I've thought a bit (too much?) about this and, like many others, find it difficult to pick 2 films. I also have a problem with the word 'favourite'. It's an odd word. But enough of semantics.

To enter into the spirit of things, my 2 favourite movies would be;

The Goonies
The Lego Movie

because they're the first films I thought of that I'd apply the word favourite to! But I could think of more. By their nature, they're all fun and somewhat frivolous films, and so difficult to rank.

I can easily think of tens of films that I'd class as 'better'; be it more thought provoking, more moving, better scripted or directed or acted or whatever.

For me, 'favourite' is for ice cream flavours or pop songs. It can change week to week. For me to describe a film as favourite tends to trivialise it. Which is okay for a film like The Goonies; it didn't set about to make you think!

Sorry. I kmow you wanted just an answer, not a f-ing essay on film appreciation! :laugh:

My guess is that you don't like pop music or ice cream either then!

Thing is, I can see why someone might not like it. I can see that some would find it a loathsome pile of vomit inducing crap. Not everybody likes strawberry ice cream, or Take That. Me fr'instance.
