I've been watching a few Western films recently and wondered what people's favourites were? Got round to seeing For a few Dollars more for the first time recently.

i liked some of the old John Wayne ones, and more modern like Young Guns. The unforgiven was a cracker, as was the magnificent 7, agree with the searchers above too. Paint my wagon was not bad either tbh

Used to like rawhind on a saturday morning.

Some of the spaghetti ones were really nasty.

I played a video game lately and completed and I have to ay the story in it was excellent and lived up to a lot of the movies. Red Dead Redemption.

What pray have you been doing with your life to have only just seen this film?

+1.
I don't have one particular favourite. My picks would be the 'man with no name' trilogy (all equally good IMHO), 'Unforgiven' (yes, I'm a Clint fan), and 'The Wild Bunch'. And +1 for 'Blazing Saddles'!

Is this one of your favourites then? I just haven't watched a lot of western films, one only has so much time for doing things and nobody else I know watches them at all. I only watched Shane about two years ago. One reason I don't watch many westerns is TCM is still 4:3 which I find incredibly annoying.
