Favourite whisky?

Just an occasional glass for me. MacAllan's or Bell's with a drop of water. The rest of the time just champagne.

I am not a whisky drinker but was after recommendations for a good one to get my father for fathers day. The wife's grandfather is a whisky drinker and he recommended Glen Moray a single from Aldi. I gave it to my Dad and he was rather surprised at how nice it was, when I told him it was from Aldi he couldn't believe it. Its been in the Mail as one of their top whiskys and won a gold best in class thing as well. Not bad for £15 a bottle. Apparently its one to try if you can pick one up next time you getting your cheap cycle kit.

Glen Moray isn't an Aldi whisky. You can get it in any supermarket round here. Its made in Elgin and is owned by the same people who own Glenlivit. If Aldi are selling it for £15 its a bit of a bargain

Is there as much tosh written about whisky as there is about wine, then? It's a flipping drink, broadly similar, some taste a bit nicer than others, depending on your own taste buds. There. That's all you need to know,

Call me a heathen if you like (chorus of "heathen") but if my drink tastes of peat or smoke or anything else except whisky, I'll take it back to the barman, and no mistake!

Laphroaig, quarter cask for preference, but std will do at a pinch


Quite like Grants sherry cask blend too, but usually stick to Black Bottle.

Grants sherry cask WHISKY.

It 's finished in old casks that were originally used to hold Sherry. Gives a sweeter, fruity taste.

You misunderstand. I don't want the brown stuff but the bottle is six feet tall and I get a wardrobe at long last!
(At the price, the whole bloody house should be furnished! )

Yeah. Going to sell it to Stuaff or Marin to lug around in their rucksacks, although it looks a bit on the light side for them...
Anyway, my clothes are valuable. And they fit a wardrobe better than they fit me.
