well today after a few weeks of cycling to and from work decided to hit my first mini milestone of 20miles, i geared up checked my bike made sure i had everything i needed and off i set, was a real pleasure with the sun gleaming down and a nice refreshing breeze (probably sunburnt) along my route was some hills and some tough points where my legs finally felt like i could go no further , but i pushed past these points and no way was i going to walk

along the route saw some other cyclists some friendly some ignorant but atleast the ones who waved smiled and nodded gave me the confidence to keep going and with a big smile on my face i did just that

big cudos go to people who do 100miles etc even this small run has made me think how hard bigger runs are where as before i thought its ok just pace it and take all day lol

point of this tread? well i have no one to tell as none of my friends care/like/enjoy cycling and im just so happy i needed to tell somone

Well done!!
I recently broke 15 miles - huge for me!
I'm hoping to hit 20 soon and maybe even 50 by the end of the summer
Edited to add: I can see my former village on your map

Great result. I am going out myself in a bit. I've just got in from work and really really need lunch before riding. Looks a nice route too. Did you turn around at Hoveton Bridge?
I like the hilly route from Wroxham across to Salhouse and then on to the Brickilns pub and back to the city via Plumstead Road or down Thunder Lane and along Thorpe Road. We sometimes ride out to Hoveton or to Coltishall for lunch and then home again. Not at the moment though, way too unfit,

Well done Nazzuro.

I would just mention that averaging 15 mph so early in your riding "career" is very good, but that if you want to up the mileage a bit, you might take some of the pace out. As you build things up, do some short fast runs, but also some long runs at an easy pace.........and spin on the hills. Most newcomers kill themselves off by trying to power up hill.

Some of the hills today were a right struggle i thought i was in a good gear it felt like i was but my legs were like jelly so i had to drop some gears and sit in the saddle to make it haha

My commute to work is a short sprint with a biggish hill takes me about 9/10 mins to cover 3 miles
