Gent's never fettle your bike in the nude ... I'm now only half the man I used to be

I'm not going to contribute a guess. But this post reminded me of a time when one of my colleagues was reprimanded after being caught operating a strimmer on a very hot day without all the required safety gear.

The next day he was seen working (not far from the M3), wearing safety boots, gloves, chainsaw chaps, and a hard hat with face shield and ear defenders. And nothing else.

Can I make an insurance claim against you for the tea damage to my keyboard and screen?

I've worked it out

While attempting to fettle the brake adjustment, you pricked your finger on a splinter of brake cable (intense instant pain), thus forcing you to stuff your finger in your mouth (as you do when you injure a finger) while at that very moment in time, you sneezed (woman flu) causing the finger end to be bitten off

<<<takes a bow

Well that's a very very imaginative guess and I have had girl flu recently but sorry no it wasn't brake cables........

Putting your fingers near any spinning bike wheel can be dangerous, I hope you've still got the finger!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes still got a finger but tendon damage not just a 'big cut!' so not just a ickle scratch! + it is very very sore!

It must be time for the big reveal now Cyclox. Not begging, just think the timing is right for it.

The sneezing suggestion was genius, nice one Norman.

Went for checkup this afternoon.......god it's b+&%"y painful. I have severed a tendon and can't bend my finger. When the doc tried to touch it I nearly went through the roof! It'll be weeks before I can get on the bike........I'm glad there's a spate of bad weather at the moment so I wont feel too disappointed.....

Sounds nasty.

My mate nearly ripped his little finger off playing rugby last week. He tapes up the three fingers (except little one) due to them being smashed up. Caught the ball awkwardly, and it went between strapped fingers and little one, ripped in nearly off. 20 odd stitches to re attach.
