If I am not mistaken the Magnificent 7 was also a remake of a Japanese film.............so much better as I don't speak Japanese
When I first saw Seven Samurai, some years after the remake Magnificent 7, I thought it a bit slow in comparison. Some years later watched thr Samurai version again, and it almost felt like it could have been longer still. A true masterpiece. Mag7 is good fun but Seven Samurai is up there with any of the best ever films

Yes. Dennis Quaid was an improvement over James Stewart, although Hardy Kruger was in a class of his own in the original. Both are good, but the newer version just pips it.
