Gloves when it's cold, mitts when it's warm. Take both

Am wearing mitts as the moment and can't see me wearing long finger gloves now until the autumn, but they are in the commuters pannier anyway.

I get the odd evening in fingerless gloves but mornings are still way to cold at the moment to go fingerless. Saying that, I'm pretty sure I wore fingerless on Tuesday morning, but it was a lot warmer than normal.

As per Ian, I tend to carry both with me this time of year.

gloves in winter 'cos it's cold, gloves in summer 'cos it's hot, mitts in spring and autumn when it's just right (spring is about 9 days sometime during April, and not consecutive days)

During the summer with the heat, humidity and sweaty hands, gloves mean you can keep a grip on the bars.

Must admit, I use full finger gloves all the time on my bike. Got a lovely pair of lightweight ones for spring, summer and autumn that are so comfortable it's unreal. A cheap pair of neoprene winter gloves (which may well have come from Halfords about 10 years ago) sees me right during those dark days.
