Why didn't i do this before?????
If carlsberg made bike rides....

Even in the storm when it was like cycling to the final control along a windswept sinking oil rig, I loved it.

How nice are all of the other auk riders, never chatted so much in my life.

Time for a beer or five.

I'm glad that you had a good time despite the bad weather. Just think how much you will enjoy some sunny audax rides in the future!

There are a few splendid hard, hilly audax events up here (e.g. SITD & SOM - Spring Into The Dales & Season Of Mists) that several of us local CycleChatters tend to tackle as forum rides within the events. We usually form a slower group and a faster group and stick with the riders we set off with.

I'm hoping to be able to ride SITD again this year after missing several due to illness.

Glad it went well. The route was quite icy in places last year. Is the J and G the one with one of the controls in an open prison? I might be mixing it up with the South Glos 100.

Did a night shift last night or would have been there.

Have a look at Barrys Bristol Ball Buster in March which is a 200 . Barrys Bristol Bash and Blast are both 100s and are all on same day. Im doing the Blast.

Good, wasn't it! The wind on the way back really started to pick up after the second control, and we had to nurse back one of our group after he started cramping up. Just made it home before the heavens opened - 85 miles all in.
