[Firestorm, post: 2671664, member: 12827"]Are you sure there were other cars and pedestrians ? I thought it was private ?[/quote]

Private according to who? Matthew who cherry picks rules/laws to suit himself?!

It may be privately owned but not in the sense that public won't have access to it. It's used by people to park and in his video he rides past these cars and pedestrians...

No, it is definitely dangerous:
Eleven motorcyclists killed on North Yorkshire roads in 2013 as fatalities rise this summer

You'll note that they don't only kill themselves but also other road users.

Private car park my arse. I know Prestatyn.

Matt get the V5 and go and speak to the DVLA. If motorbikes are anything like cars, you will be in big poop.

I was behind an old chap last week who had been on holiday and wanted to pay his 'road tax' (leave it). Anyway he has been away for a few months, and it ran out the month before. As over a month had passed he could only renew for this month, leaving a gap. Oh and a nice fine to come his way according to the letters he had. It's no excuse these days.

You need to speak to the DVLA as a minimum. And don't ride it. You hit someone, then you are in deep poo, private land or not. If the cops had seen you even pushing it, they would have done you.

Tax or SORN. You also need the V5. Explain the situation to them. If you do not you will be in the poo. Explain you have bought a bike, not got the V5 yet, but what do you need to do about insurance or SORN it, as you 'are not sure'. They will help you. Just say you don't know what to do, which is the truth.

Please listen to us. Just explain it to them. Oh and do not mention you have had a go on it. You have just bought it, OK.

I've just go to ask:

Was Matthew wearing a cycle helmet while riding his motor cycle?

If so that's another offence that's been committed.

I really hope that he has a long hard think about posting videos of other road users' indiscretions when his self incriminating video leaves him open to prosecution tough I suspect that he won't spot/acknowledge the irony.

As for his motor cycle. No road tax, no insurance, no SORN, no log book. I suspect that he's been taken for a ride.

In his video, his shadow looked like he had on a helmet but it looked like a bicycle helmet. If that was the case, I would suggest he use a motorcycle helmet when riding.

If Matthew is not the registered keeper he will not be responsible for the any fines if the bike does not have a SORN.

The procedure for dealing with V5 is here https://www.gov.uk/notifying-dvla-if-you-sell-your-vehicle

When buying a vehicle the previouis owner should post the V5 and give you a section of the form, if they have lost it they have to write to DVLA.

I suggest you talk to the previous owner to get the V5 sorted.
