The 254 does not have an integrated dispenser. It's also a smaller number.The 253 and 254 also have integrated seed and nut dispensers.
I'm not sure what the key differences between them all are. Mr R does like to read all the reviews before buying gadgets, so I'm sure he'd know. It's probably not all that interesting or entertaining...
