Nobody from Yorkshire has ever been anywhere other than Yorkshire otherwise they'd realise it has the best of nothing!

We had one of these oppositw the halls of residence where I lived as a student in Salford. Both were pretty good. The grease proof paer wasn't very good and the food tended to stick to it.

My chippy of choice is an English,Chinese, hybrid kind of place that also does kebabs and burgers:tongue:
Spoilt for choice I am.
I agree on the gravy on chips though, not for me that, much rather a splodge of curry sauce

Love the gravy and curry sauce you get in Chinese chippies up North. For those of you south of Birmingham yes we have a habit of chucking gravy or curry sauce all over our chips. None of this jellied eals or pie and liquor nonsence.:laugh::whistle:
I've got a 5kg bag of chip-shop curry sauce mix at work
How many tons would you like?

It's by his desk and he uses it as a dip.

FF - do you know about packaging and Wobblers question on page three of the "consume by" thread?

Dunno, I'll nip over to the other thread and take a look!

Since living in Liverpool, attending University, I've noticed a trend for takeaway shops to offer both traditional Fish and Chips, as well as Chinese. I've never seen it anywhere else. Is it just a Liverpool thing? Or is it similar where you live?

It really annoys me, as it just results in neither being particularly good, I see no need for it!?

Only thought of this as a result of the Ketchup thread...

There are lots of Chinese chippy's here in Costa del Rochdale.

Chinese immigrants, as I recall from somewhere, were actually the saviours of the "English" chippy back in the 1950s. Can't remember how or why though ...
