Not sure if Simon has mentioned this directly, but the C2C Southend to Fenchurch Street Line has engineering works between Barking and Pitsea (on the main artery) on Saturday. This means if you bail out at Basildon on the way home for example, you can't. So Mike e might want to consider following the Victoria line. But I suspect he (and others) will get far enough to use the usable stations at Grays, Rainham, Barking, etc. especially with Sig pushing him along.
Presumably I'm OK to get the train from Benfleet to Fenchurch Street though on Friday evening?

Rain forecast now from the Met Office

It doesn't rain on the FNRttC. Why do you think we have the cat?

Yes, you'll be fine. Talking of which I'm meeting Sig as usual at Liverpool Street at 10.30-10.45 if you want to meet us to travel to HPC. We normally take the Embankment, Northumberland Ave, Traf. Square and The Mall but were thinking of going via Holborn, West End / Aldwych, Trafalgar Square, the Mall for a change of scene. Let me know if you want to join us. Equally we can potter over to Fenchurch Street if it suits.

This offer is open to anyone else coming in to the East.

Metcheck (working at last) says no rain. Every other online service I've tried says no rain....their forecasts may of course change!

Don't. They will love that. Someone will suggest cycling shirts with "Big Boys" printed on them next. Or should that be shorts?

Perhaps I was being sharply sarcastic, perhaps not.....

I'm struggling to find trains to London from Southend Victoria, may have to plump for central.

i recently re read the reports from our manningtree ride and it did make me laugh

Right! One adventure coming up. Worryingly, my navigation seems to have got a lot better of late. Time for an equal and opposite reaction, I guess.xx(

I had the chance to pick back through those reports recently too. Many a smile brought to my face. Ahhh. We'll always have Tollesbury
