it's not all that exotic - and we've done it before, back in 2006. I'm thinking of taking the ride down the Cinder Path (which has a hard surface, not cinders) that goes from Leigh High Street to Chalkwell Station. Now, there are no cycling signs, but at 6.30 in the morning, if it's dry, and if we take care, and let pedestrians past (if there are any) we'll be fine. If the tide is high the Cinder Path can be a bit wet, but it's not.

Bring it on, Dellzeqq. We're a pretty fearless bunch.

'Old' Leigh to Chalkwell beach path do you mean?
Leigh High Street is the bit south of the railway line. We cross by the bridge at the station, go down on to the High Street, through, as you say, Old Leigh, which is very pretty, and then take to the sea wall.

:smile: At this rate I'll have to take you up on borrowing a bike!!
Though did buy a bike off Oxbob (thanks kindly) and have just set that up (still got to get a new chainset for it) and tinkered with it - though not sure it's ready or set up for super mileage in combo with no sleep...I can only hope the insurance gets moving....

You will be surprised at some of the machinery that ventures out on these rides, I am sure your newly acquired steed will be more than up to the job, although a chainset may help propel you to the coast that little bit faster...

Have you posted in the "wanted's", I'm sure someone will have something??
