I don’t think you’ll learn much from that piece. It’s just histrionics, hyperbole and hand wringing.
And we accuse the dirty foreigners of overreacting!

England should run round the field saying, I say old chap, after you, splendid tackle old boy, oh hard cheese, no, no, entirely my fault, what, no just a compound fracture ref, I can play on......
Actually, was it Walker who tried to play on with cramp and I thought just go down, get play stopped you damn fool.
But the debate is rather about a worryingly common trend. That shows no great signs of going away without being challenged.Dudes, we won. It really doesn’t matter what some washed-up overweight coke fiend says, nor a second-rate striker who couldn’t cut it in the premier league, they’re just being sore losers. Ignore it. Move on.
Oh right. I was just wondering about the yellow card for surrounding the referee and arguing thing.

Yes you can, if you go down, play will eventually be stopped, whereas if you hobble around unable to really move you're effectively playing with ten men.Now now. Exaggerated. Folk (or some on here) are just advocating fair play. And getting on with the sport.
Can you get play stopped because a bit of cramp hits you?
As someone who doesn't know much about football I read that article to educate myself a bit. It seems to be saying that the rules and punishments for behaviour like playacting and shouting abuse at the referee are there, but they are not being applied? Is that out of fear?

And what is fair play? If it's some ludicrous idea of effete chivalry then it has no place. What matters is winning, not taking part.

The Argentinian, who is being paid £10,000-a-game to work as an ambassador for the governing body, described the result on Tuesday in the World Cup round of 16 as a 'monumental theft."
So he's actually getting paid by F.I.F.A to get pissed up and snort coke, then fall over needing two to carry him out the stand!
How much money does F.I.F.A have if it can pay this turd so much just for doing what he enjoys best? There should be an investigation and the rat should be forced to give back his 'wages'. He's also according to reports, getting a hefty sum for nightly shows on Venezuelan tv during the world cup.![]()
If i want to rant about someone who hates us so much i will do! There's a difference between drunken stupidity and downright hate! No doubt many of your fellow Jocks will see him as some sort of anti England hero.Yeah, cos nobody associated with England who gets paid loads has a sketchy past or serious issues. Give it a rest.
