I'm beginning to really dislike Brazil. I think they're poo.
Belgium will give us a feel for how we are really doing
I don't agree with that. For one, you have to keep the winning habit and for another if you have aspirations of going all the way you are going to meet the best teams sooner or later.Blimey! I've been at work all day - half the swedes had phoned in sick. Some great results and fantastic news for Sweden.
England should finish second now to avoid Brazil. I see the shaninigans have begun with the news Lukaku is being rested
I wasn't clear at all in my post. I wasn't expressing my opinion in that England should try to come second. But it would perhaps be fortuitous if they did.I don't agree with that. 34 nationalities are represented at my workplace. All but one of them seem to be happy at Germanys exit.I find the excessive joy at Germany’s exit a bit bemusing. It’s only notable because it’s such a rare occurrence - we certainly didn’t see this kind of reaction from German fans after England’s ignominious early exit in 2014.
Loew’s post-match press conference was dignified and level-headed. I somehow doubt the front pages of Germany’s newspapers tomorrow will be showing his face on a turnip.
Sure, Germany won’t be winning their fifth World Cup this year, but nor will England be winning their second. Are either of these facts truly something to celebrate?
I’m more disappointed that Nigeria are out than happy that Germany are too.
