This is why English football is screwed.

The most insidious part of this world cup has been Neyemeyer and now we have English players emulating him.

But its OK if we win the world cup like that. Is that what English football has come to? It makes no difference how much you cheat as long as you come home with the trophy. It sounds like a very hollow victory to me.

No the same game but I had my eyes open.
Do you really think this was a good England performance? They made no goal chances and then was over run by a second rate team. The only 2 positives was the final score and the fact that Southgate may have found the attacking line up he should have started with.

Up to now they have played 2 non starter teams and a second rate Belgian team and were beaten by the Belgians. I would love them to do well. But they have to lift there game now or they will be on the way home soon.

If its just the score we are interested in and not how they play, maybe they should just decide the winners when they toss the coin and forget the match.

As opposed to acting like a bunch of South American girls after being slapped.

Thankfully, I would rather us lose playing like Englishmen. Play hard, play fair. But that value is sadly being watered down in time.

But if they dont play like Englishmen they will not win this World cup.

I think England are doing OK with their limited resources - we've got to accept that they just don't have the depth of talent that some other sides in the tournament have. I like Southgate as a manager and trust him to pick the right team and make the right tactical decisions to make the best use of what he's got at his disposal. They're certainly playing like more of a cohesive team unit than Germany, Spain or Argentina seemed able to manage.

Of course I didn't think it was a particularly good performance, but what I took from your post was that England were emulating Neymar, which they weren't.

You're entitled to your opinion but if it came down to whether we would like to see us "lose playing like Englishmen" or win the World Cup you'd be in a tiny minority

FWIW, I thought that largely the England players acted with remarkable restraint considering the provocation and a referee who could have handled it better.

You're probably right here... I've no idea how Colombia ended up with a full 11 after 90 minutes. English and other European players are not 100% angelic innocents, but crikey, compared to some of the antics of, well...
