Ford Streetka and all smallish soft tops. Now considering Chevrolet or Suzuki, instead of Nissan

For an insurer that means unsecured.

So, a new driver, a car with a tent for a roof, unsecured parking... That is going to be pricey.

Don't buy a cabriolet, just roll the windows down.
I might buy another bike instead?:okay: I fancy a Bianchi with all that talk about Celeste. I think a bike'd bring me more pleasure and cost a whole lot less!

I might have to change the thread title..again.

Would you not have to get a tandem, I thought this was mainly for your daughter?

Well,if it's going to cost a bomb to insure her then it's not going to be worth it. Insurance is such a rip off, even for someone like me on full no claims, only had 3 points in 39 years of driving, stuff. They make it too expensive to claim, unless the car's written off or nicked. Claiming for dents and attempted break ins etc just isn't worth it.

This might be better than a cabriolet?

Don't get a cabriolet and it won't be stupidly expensive.

Like I said on the first page - get a Panda. Cheap to run, fun to drive, bomb proof, can fit a bike inside easily, has racks for a roof.

Does not seem like much of a margin to give most of it away.
Really? If he is £600 into it, then sells for £900 he makes a 50% profit in a few days as opposed to holding for £1050 and making a 60% profit in a few weeks. Seems a pretty good return to me.
No vat registered then.

A Panda was mentioned earlier. Check the rear suspension. If this rusts the whole back axle assembly has to be replaced at probably approaching 4 figures cost new. Mine at 04 reg is getting dodgy and one of my neighbours with an 08 one has just had to fork out quite a bit of cash for repairs to rear suspension due to rust.
