I travelled to Hull to buy a car in the past. My brother got his from Dundee, flew to Edinburgh, train to Dundee, drove back...that said I believe there were only something like 7 of that model made for the UK market!
My BiL flew to Perth to buy a car and then drove it home. To Sydney.

Funnily enough, I drove up to Blackburn to buy my 107. It meant a day out and lunch at a Little Chef, but it saved something like £1300 over the cheapest deal I was being offered locally.

I went down to the dealers this morning to have another look at that Citroen. They want £1395 for it. They have a C1 in with an 06 reg',going for £2999. It says low mileage on the 06(or is it 60,i can't remember?) Anyway,on the way down i saw a woman getting into a C1. I asked her about the car. She said she pays £20 a year tax,£150 a year insurance, and she's only had a license for 6 years, and she puts half the amount of petrol in compared to her old car.

I also went to have another look at that Streetka. Now that i've taken my rose tinted glasses off i can see more rust marks and dents. I must say though that you're better off looking at these cars when the place selling them is shut. That way you don't have the creepy dealer breathing down your neck hassling you to buy the car.

I gave my 107 to daughter number three when she was 17. Well, my Dad bought it off me and gave it to her. Less than a grand to insure a 17 year old on a then three year old, 9000 mile car.

Except that's exactly what you'll be doing each time you get behind the wheel with your dodgy eyesight...

For your information I think i'm being fair in getting a very small car. I could by law, drive the biggest car you could find, but i know that my vision is a problem so i'm thinking of getting a car that i can visually manage.I'd also like to point out that i always keep to the speed limit, most times going below it and consider myself to be an experienced and careful driver. I've had a license for nearly 39 years and in that time i've only received 3 points which were for a cracked headlight on a parked up for ages car that i had. I've only ever been stopped by the police once and that was because i was out driving at 2am,so they wanted to know why i was out at that time. If you want to have a go at someone then i suggest you have a go at the wonkers who drive with phones stuck to their ear,not indicting and going above the speed limit. There are plenty of them about! Oh and not forgetting the ones who drive with cocaine in their system,of which i've been told there are plenty of them about.

I cycled behind a StreetKa into work today (traffic meant I kept catching up with it) and noticed the back window was dripping in condensation. If you're still after one, get to the dealer early in the morning before the sun has warmed it up.

If you admit yourself that your vision isn't good enough to handle a big car then it's not good enough to drive full stop.

A small car will kill a pedestrian just as easily as a big car.

How will you feel if one day you're driving along the motorway and you change lanes without noticing that it's already occupied? Worst case scenario in that case is someone swerves to avoid you resulting in a ten car pile up and maybe three people dead.
