Ride It Like You Stole It!
Doh...it's those ! I hadn't a clue what they were until someone posted a picture......

I'll take 'em or leave 'em.... not a 'teacake' though...., where I come from they are fruit filled 'baps/muffins/batches' - or what ever everyone calls them, and they are rather nice toasted.

When I was a kid my Mum worked for the parent company of Burtons, who made wagon wheels. And they used to sell the seconds off cheaply to the staff. And what was wrong with these wagon wheels - they were double coated .... I had forgotton that memory till your OP.

And my brother in law, works in the food industry, but annoyingly keeps changing jobs, something to do with checking the food standards within a factory. Anyway the best job he had (from my point of view:smile:), was when he worked in the factory that supplied M&S cheesecakes ... those ones they serve in 1 or 2 portions ... if they put the decorations on lopsided then the staff got to buy those and they were delicious:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:. If I had worked there I would be very very fat by now.

Might I suggest (timidly you understand :o) that you could dip them as many times as you like at home.

Well that is a possibility, but if you're dipping an already constructed teacake into melted choc you might run the risk of the mallow interior going soggy and losing all its fluffiness. I suppose I could try!

Sounds like an acceptable risk to me.

I think the concept of "dipping" is wrong. [porn alert]They must be placed on a grid and chocolate poured over them. [/porn alert]. Now that is something to try at home. Good idea to "fridge" them first.
