Will these bungalows have my favourite bungalow feature, the shutters that wouldn't cover all the way across the window even if you could actually deploy them?
is that a bungalow feature? I'd have thought you were more likely to see them on two storey houses. Waggon wheels I grant you.

I'm a bungalow fan. It's building without architects. I love the colours (although Littlehampton is the place to go for pastel pinks, greens and blues) and I love the expediencey of the 'chalet' roof. I love the materials - the felt roofs, the parged timber walls, and I love the fact that the door is oftentimes slap bang in the middle of the front elevation. It's a reminder of the times when people weren't afraid to build for themselves.

I thought the halftimbering on the one in Rayleigh was brilliant.
