If you want company there might be three others doing a bit of a short-cut at the start (you might even be on the same train as two of them), and I've recommended Sloane Square.
Looking forward to this. My son Scott will also be joining us for his first Fnrttc. He is on my mid 80s Falcon, which is stil going strong
Do we need to know a phone number to contact Management when out on the road?
That's good Tim! Young iLB 'inherited' my Falcon of the ahem 'early' 80s, so it will be interesting to take a look...Also, Andy (iLB) was a similar age when he cracked his first Friday Nighter...to Brighton - then back again, for his first 100, then probably slept for a week ( early preparation for university).
There should always be a Tail-End-Charlie (or three) behind you. Having said that, on one memorable occasion when cycling into Southend as the TEC, I was overtaken by more than a dozen members of the peleton, who had somehow manage to get behind us! Ultimately this was apparently because they had got ahead of the leader, and turned the wrong way. The moral of the story is, don't sprint ahead of the leader, unless you're certain of where you're going, and if you go wrong because of this, tough! There will always be a guardian angel hovering Martin...
