To be fair we do go through Ditchling but can't do a proper spot of typographical admiration as Ditchling isn't on the LNER. Worse luck.

Of course in peecee circles, and few cities are quite as peecee as Brighton & Hove, it is no longer deemed acceptable to admire the works of Mr Gill any more than one may admire those of Mr Paul Gadd.

You were looking a bit 'Greggy Glitter' last time you hit Brighton, young ref.
Anyway, Eric Gill. There are sixteen Gills in a pint. OK - he's not your type but his work - wow - a craftsman! It is lucky that he documented his life so thoroughly that the 'revelations', as distasteful as they are, came to light.

Gary Glitter is non-PC...especially since the cops took his away  (Sorry - bad taste)

At around this time a person's thoughts turn to the issue of bike choice. There are four contenders this time, two with gears and two fixed.
Planet-X Ti. The nicest choice but nothing special by way of lights.
Yates Audax. The sensible choice (if there is to be any wetness) with good lights, gears and mudguards. It even has a rack that any shoes required later could be tied to. On the other hand, as I tend to get it out on rainy nights I am in danger of taking against it.
Carlton Clubman. S3X 3 speed fixed, It has mudguards and can have good lights (if I swap the bits with the Yates) but can it take people mocking the paintwork again or would it all be too much for it.
Cotic Roadrat. Fixed, dynamo lights, disk brakes. The winter commuter, it and I are going to spend quite a lot of time together over the next four months, but it hasn't been to the seaside this year.
P-X Adrian. I was thinking this to myself on the way home tonight, and thinking to ask someone sensible...you'll do...do you think I would get up Ditchling or other, with my Solo 48 x 16? (It has a bag, mudguards, all the illumination fitted for commuting etc, can carry cake...)
I think the last TEC Ti fest of 2010 would herald the marriage of Prince and Kate in suitable fashion. xx(

I saw the name Eric Gill and thought it was the saucy postcard chap for a minute but that's Donald McGill, shows how posh I am!

Wilhelm:"Well! I'm going to go riding with Legg's lot as they pass Nan's place.
Dad's going to buy me a Plantagenet - X or something like that, so there!"

Katie: Through expensive gritted teeth: " Yes, let's faff about for the nation - they need us in troubled times, darling."

I believe that the plan doesn't involve Ditchling but the softer Devil's Dyke. I have done Ditchling on three different fixies but none with a gear quite as big as 48X16. At a guess I would say that you would really struggle on a high 70s gear on Ditchling.

Ok - thanks - I'm not bothered - it was just so convenient for 'stuff' last time. I'll get a Poundland rucksack and look shabby.

Or
"Darling, that Cameron chap asked if we could do him a little favour to get the Guantanamo stuff off the news bulletins. Would you mind...?"

Are you sure - you only got about 20p worth of use from the last one. It had disintegrated after 10 miles hadn't it?

Truesay Adam! However, my sister has bought me another two. extensive engineering last weekend means that the ba$tard straps that fall apart have now been reinforced with cable ties! So confident am I that I will probably carry two of Dan Leppard's recipe cakes this time.
