OK by popular demand, having first achieved my primary objective of fixing the shower

Excellent - thanks for sorting out the weather!

I always remember you doing a great job at Gatwick on the ride to Newhaven this summer when you seemed to use your i-phone to disperse the rainclouds - I hope the magic touch continues!

Thanks Clive - where are you off to...an 'all-nighter' at Heaven again?
any allnighter with Clive would be heaven...

no fog here, and my guess is that we'll leave it behind somewhere around Sutton. Which is like Bromley. But more posh.

Here for rides.
Meeting over ran as meetings do. Now aiming to intercept the ride somewhere in Surrey, Simon having kindly rung and said Betchworth, Newdigate as being likely landmarks en route. Adrian's texts implies the Carlton will be out tonight.

Betchworth has a ring to it Faygate at 03:30 so what Betchworth Station an hour or so before? They are bound to slow down for the level crossing there aren't they?

sounds like a plan.

in other news: I've got to go back to the shed. Someone has bought my eBay bike and wants to collect it at 09:00 tomorrow. Good job my wife loves me innit?

Wheee! What a road trip!
Lovely route, love to try it on a fine day. (Simon you wre going to send me it, please?)
Sutton was an interesting locale - lively locals and (I'm told) slightly posher than Croydon.
Thank you to all, as ever, for good company, and fine organisation.
Roll on March!
