Whoops. Wish I hadn't mentioned Shooter H*ll now. Good job my commute isn't via Yorks Hill

Can I just say two things:
1. I was only joking about Shooters Hill
2. Me next with the mind bleach
to be almost serious....I used to be a bit taken aback when people sent me e-mails saying 'well, that was crap!' or 'the toilets were smelly!', but now I just think 'hey, they've got a point of view, and if they don't like something it's better that they tell me'. So I do listen - some of the time.
The worst trouble I've ever got in to is when I've said to people 'this ride might be too tough for you - I'd rather you didn't come, because we have to get there by such and such a time...' Some people, say 'fine' and some people get really totally pissed off and never forgive me. 'It's a CTC ride, it should be for all comers' comes to mind.

Anyone complaining about FNRttC can kiss my granny ring. They need to get over themselves.
Simon - sometimes your otherwise delightful rhetoric can be ambiguous and confusing though for the uninitiated.'for the grizzled', 'a fast non-genteel one', or indeed, 'a genteel ride'. These have coded secret meanings and we love you for it, even though I can't decode what they really mean, but these phrases don't clealry communicate your expectations about participants abilities
(and all the unambiguous bollox about racks and muguards is just that bollox, and we love you for that too!)
Suggs recommends Old Neptune
it starts serving beer when breakfast ends. Forgive me, but I can't see the flaw!

Ignoring the time delay there is no flaw, much as I'd 'love' to waltz around looking for the right ambience combined with the trendiest beers, the thought just gives me flashes of that Hipster thread.
It's a bar, we're there already, it has a nice view and it serves booze...nuff said
Metcheck has been changing tack (and wind direction), but it looks decent now.The cat has yet to speak ... in frustration I did Metcheck. Looking good for Friday night & Saturday morning (surely a novelette there?) with a following wind. Better be right as two days later it is predicted to swing to a 42 mph northerly. Bit tricky even as a crosswind.
Part of the attraction of the Madeira and the Boat Cafe at Felpham, as well as the Waterfront, is that you can keep an eye on the bikes. With bike runs being targetted by thieves that's no small thing. And easy to watch the bikes...
