Sorry to disapoint but I just checked the work weather forecast: Looks like we will be racing the rain eastward and will probably get caught while we are at Andy's. Forecast is ~5mm between midnight and 6am wind between SW and W. expected Hampshire ~midnight and to have blown through to the channel by 10am.

Forecast keeps changing. XC now seems to be showing dry to Whitstable but may get wet on the way back...... 
I think they are all showing the same band of rain just disagree as to what time it will blow through - Met Office 4 am - 10 am. XC chows it between 10 am and 12pm.
