I think this route has a fairly rural stretch, so brightish. On the other hand it's only dark for about 5 minutes (slight exaggeration). What lights have you got?Archie said:I'd like to do this one as my first FNRTTC, as home is rideable from the finish, but I've got some questions/concerns.
* Just how good do those lights need to be?
Some have a kip during the afternoon before. I don't. I've been known to catch a few zeds while waiting for p*nct*res to be repaired.* Don't you get, you know, tired?
Cycle? More practically, can you get an advanced ticket? Check the national rail website. The vanilla fare for me from Three Bridges to Victoria is 9 quid or so. By booking on line early enough I can get it for 3.90 (I think).* How do clever people get to the start cheaply (from Pompey in my case)?
Don't know that one.* Do the offroad sections agree with 23c tyres?
I think shorts. Maybe a pair of Ron Hills in the rack pack.* Longs or shorts?

Bollo said:Can I be the lanterne rouge? What route are you taking to Pompey? I'd probably try to break off at some point and head to Fareham to get a direct train back to Winchester.
Archie - Lighting-wise, I'll be packing the 2000+ lumen set up, simply because I can. Enough light for all!![]()
