I might have to miss this on grounds of ugliness, although it has never stopped me in the past! I have been in the Royal Free since this morning...busted nose, split lip which needs special treatment tomorrow etc... More importantly, my new Gore jacket is mortally wounded, my new gloves are 'ventilated' now, and my Spesh Muira glasses kaput! My wheels are at the cop shop and I have no idea what happened. My Giro helmet is also cracked across the temple. Wear one! Apart from that all's great!

Sorry to hear that 'tif. Hope you are on the mend soon. It wasn't on that new bike was it?

I can't make this ride due to a busted ankle. Not mine but Mrs Kh's who broke her ankle stepping out of the shower last week, would you believe.

Hi Martin,

Sorry to hear of your misfortune, hope you and the bike are not too battered and bruised. Sounds quite nasty. Keep smiling (if you can) and hope to see you back on your bike soon.

Best wishes,

Mike

Get well soon Martin, sounds nasty. +1 for the helmet, mine saved me from concussion/fractured skull/god knows what when I pranged in Wales.

Ouch - that's got to be the last thing in the run of bad luck. Take it easy.

Thanks to all. I'm back. My bike had a flat front tyre - which is reassuring as it probably hit a pothole or exploded of its own accord. I don't remember a thing - apart from the fact that I have not borrowed any money off anyone! Got to go back to the Royal Free tomorrow at 07:30 for stichcraft on my lip...not so sew them together top and bottom (sorry about that) but side to side.
It has been a bit of a run of things - this was my first commute since Dec 24th!
But no more threadjacking, I'll be ok.

Just for fun:
(never waste an opportunity to illustrate helmet aid!)

Christ, even after a full face plant you're still not as ugly as me.

Get well soon, Mart. Hopefully you can make the March ride.
