FNRttC Friday Night Ride to the Coast 26th February - Brighton 2010

Ah well, it's a nice day for a ride. I have just got out of bed and feel as though I have been run over. (I have no recall so even that's possible!) I have just spoken to the PC who rescued my bike and apparently I was found k.o.-d lying in the road by two pedestrians who called the relevant services. Apparently there was a drain cover nearby -not level etc - so that might well have been a cause...
Anyway, thanks again to all for your good wishes and, thanks to me wearing a helmet this time, my forehead is as shiny and unmarked as ever.
And a word of praise for the Royal Free; they offered me a cyclists makeover as part of their basic stitchery course, so yesterday I gave them a photo to base my new features on, and the result so far is impressive, except for a clinical c0kc up with the hair restorer injections...

Result after one day.

Take care out there.

George Clooooooney Martin? He's a bit overrated but if you wish and the kind docs at Royal Free are up for it..still I reckon you might need your head looked into - helmets can't protect you from the inside funny functions.

Hope you get better soon, you must feel awful. Take it easy and keep us posted on how you're doing.

I'm sorry, I might be a bit thick up here in the north, but I can't see any differences between the two pictures...;)

I might have to miss this on grounds of ugliness, although it has never stopped me in the past! I have been in the Royal Free since this morning...busted nose, split lip which needs special treatment tomorrow etc... More importantly, my new Gore jacket is mortally wounded, my new gloves are 'ventilated' now, and my Spesh Muira glasses kaput! My wheels are at the cop shop and I have no idea what happened. My Giro helmet is also cracked across the temple. Wear one! Apart from that all's great!

Blimey, just caught up on this, ouch!

this is our first February run, so it's a record for February, and in the top 5 overall. The biggest was 94 to Brighton last May. March will be the biggest yet, unless there's some untoward weather problem. There's pent-up demand, with new riders being put off to April, so that could have a big turnout. Agree on the Andys - we may have to impose a limit, or rename some of them.

which brings me to the early hours of next Saturday. It's not looking good.
