I'll bring the jersey with me- think Tynan has bagsied it to take it to its next 'stage' but if anyone wants to sign it...I think he'd kill me for passing it on if he's been waiting for over a year.

I've signed up to my first FNRttC thanks to reading past FNRttC threads - clearly I've got far too much free time on my hands! My train should get into Marylebone at around 10:30 - what's the best/simplest (so I don't get lost!) route to get to HPC from there?

It's my first FNRttC as well (and I'm living in london for only 4 month) but if you like we could meet at the station and ride to HPC together. Let's fix details by email: o.storbeck at googlemail dot com

I thought the delay was because Tynan had to learn to write:evil:

Both of you check out Flying Dodo's foolproof instructions for the Kings Cross / Marylebone route into midnight nirvana. Earlier in this thread I think.

It's easy to get to HPC from the station.

As the Ape man says, see Flying Dodos route HERE. He passes Marylebone Station, so I'm sure will be happy to meet you on route.

I've got the day off on Friday to prepare i.e sleep:biggrin: but I think I'll be taking my bike to the LBS as it has suddenly acquired a rather annoying click (no Al not my freewheel) from the bottom area  That's the bike's bottom not mine
I think/hope I just need a new chain. It has done almost 2000 miles in all sorts of weather so is probably due a change.
If not then I'll be ticking along even more than usual.

Andy, whilst I remember - do you want me to bring a gorilla pod for this one for your camera?

Nah. Thanks for the offer, but I'll already be all taped up by the time I set off. Gotta fettle the bike tomorrow as have no brakes (again!) If this keeps up, I may have to press the white one into service.

Might be cable stretch. Might be pads out of alignment. BB7s have been perfect for thousands of miles, but even with new pads, somethings not right

Hi everybody! Just a quick bit of road/weather updates for you all taking part.
I was driving around Haywards Heath/Ditchling/Brighton today and there is a lot (and I mean 'a lot') of surface water and lots of the wet stuff running off the fields into the roads. Plus there are enormous pot-holes all over the place!

Hopefully it won't impact on your ride too much, so have fun!

damnit. im drunk. ah well......afternoon off tomorrow to sleep. note to self.....buy spare batteries and an extra inner tube.

You should have received an e-mail promising rain and headwinds. Best I could do, I'm afraid. Cat's on strike.

I did spot some potholes going down to Ditchling, but we'll probably be there after first light. It's the monsters in Lonesome Lane that we'll have to watch out for.....

I'll be leading the St Pancras peloton along Marylebone Road, but we won't get near to there until 23:20 or so, but if you & McWobble want to hang around the top of Seymour Place to meet us, that'll be fine, or if you want to make your own way to Hyde Park Corner, just follow the directions in the route already mentioned above.

So am I but this time I will be putting them in a plastic bag. I took a spare pair in November along with a spare jacket only to find they got as wet as those I had on  I can vouch that the DHB back pack is not waterproof.
