Hopefully I won't shout myself hoarse with calls of 'Hole!'......

After the deluge in November, bringing a backup pair of gloves just in case...

It's "Ole!" Stuart - as you buck across the voids, the 'El Cordobes' of the FNRttC

(Oh dear - El Cordobes...it's an age thing )

You'll be fine. It's only holes, rain and materialistic concerns...you'll be with people!

All batteries changed on the trike.
Waterproof bag packed.
Off to bed for a few more ZZzzzzzzz.......

I've got to cancel tonight, very disapointed, but nothing is going right right now, with the bike and me..

Was really really looking forward to this too...

Have fun everyone, am sure it will be a great ride!

PS. Buy shares in Wiggle... their profits are about to go up!

Scruts. Hope your bike and body (or is it weatherproofing) recover in time for the next one, Davy.

Thanks mate, it will do, my bank balance wont be though.. I've been doing my commutes home at late night to adjust to the wind and coldness and it hasnt been bothering me, even just in shorts... ive got plenty of insulation too! ;)

Good luck again and see you on next months ride!

I assumed McWobble was a new nickname for MacB ;)

Mate, when you see me you'll realise just how cruel a remark that is:biggrin:

Well, I'm getting sorted, checking over bike in a minute then off to bed. Have just done 10 miles and it's very windy, I will be charging any skinny whippets that want to draft! At low speeds before anyone points that out.

Though a neighbour, old guy, appeared at my door this morning, did I want a couple of pairs of Ron Hill style leggings, he had bought them a few years ago planning to ride but never got around to it? Oh, ok then I said:biggrin:

It's my first FNRttC as well (and I'm living in london for only 4 month) but if you like we could meet at the station and ride to HPC together. Let's fix details by email: o.storbeck at googlemail dot com

That would be good. Having read Flying Dodo's directions and looked at a map (note to self: check the map before posting, next time ) it seems fairly straightforward - I won't say "foolproof", that's a surefire way of making sure I get lost! I'll send you an email, redfalo.

The wind is consistently westerly at the moment (and since midnight), but unfortunately is also consistently rising. The average was around 5 mph at midnight, but has risen to 15 mph now (30 mph gusts) for South Kensington.

I guess it won't be too bad if our speed isn't too fast, since it's all about vectors!

I'm currently surrounded by charging devices, three bike lights (front light, spare front light, and rear light), GPS, camera battery, and phone. I'd have the headset for the phone on charge as well, but I couldn't find it this morning.

I'm hopefully ready for any precipitation. I've got two complete sets of gloves, a spare pair of socks, my Defroster shoes (significantly more waterproof than the ones I wore in November), and over-shoes. I'll probably bung a spare base layer in as well, if it looks like there's a significant risk of getting soaked.

As a ward against fairy visitations, I've got three spare tyres, given that I leant out both of my spares to others in November.

How will we tell you apart from MacB?

If it's still dry until midnight I may pop along to the start to say hello/goodbye on my way back from the pub.

I have just come from Faygate not to far from the Cabin Cafe which depending on route you may go too. The weather is clear and dry although its very windy and the wind is cold, very cold. I hope it stays dry for you compared to November.

Enjoy your ride people i will be back out to play in April

Hi everybody! Just a quick bit of road/weather updates for you all taking part.
I was driving around Haywards Heath/Ditchling/Brighton today and there is a lot (and I mean 'a lot') of surface water and lots of the wet stuff running off the fields into the roads. Plus there are enormous pot-holes all over the place!

Hopefully it won't impact on your ride too much, so have fun!
did we notice the word 'impact'. Hem!

a few cancellation, but not so many. The As and the Ts are up for anything, but the H is no more....
