Any update on the madness obs. Greg? Or are you swanning around in Paris already...

If I was in Paris I would be truly mad.

The Heineken Cup Final isn't until May B) and much as I'd like to go and watch France win a Grand Slam I wouldn't want to go a Paree to see them beat England to do it.

Yes. Wishful thinking that there might be a game taking place...I ALWAYS go - but I have to work this year. Mostly I 'recreate', not 'spectate'
(No such word as 'spectation' - I know )

At least by May your limbs will be in fine fettle for the drag up to Montmartre and Place du Tetre etc - for the amusements.B) Maybe you could outpace the funiculaire with a Velib - if there are any left!

Come on Martlets - time to join CycleChat and limber up with a few quips about Sussex Life etc..!

Has anyone else seen the forecast?
Looks like we might be in for rain...

What?? This is outrageous. What's the cat playing at? I wanted to bring my new bicycle, but it will refuse to come out unless promised dry weather (and sunshine in the morning to show off its shininess).

I'm toying with FD's idea of riding my old grubby bike for this one. Not because I don't want to intimidate the Martlett's contingent, I just don't fancy repeating the clean up job after November's ride!

Usually it's not an idea I have to toy with - 'grubby old bike' has pretty much covered all my options up to now...

It's still a long way off. I'm sticking with inane optimism until the last minute (and beyond).

why are we fretting over the weather forecast nine days before the event? might as well cast runes, probably more accurate.

Let's have no premature talk of rain.
Well, nobody had posted for over 24 hours, so I felt compelled to stir things up!

Greg's quite right about the runes though - Metcheck's update this eve has gone from forecasting moderate rain all day Friday and Saturday, to just 0.3 mm overnight, so let's see what develops ;)

Enough about the weather for the moment. Long-range forecasts are highly unreliable at the best of times...Anyway, be positive (please!!).

Yes, enough of weather talk for once. We should all just concentrate on weather or not we're going to have a great night.

Ahh, bollocks, you just can't get away from that nasty weather....;)
