Don't worry Adam, I can flit up and down the peloton and will have choccy stuff with me

I'm unable to TEC owing to ridiculous false nails left over from bridesmaid duties over the weekend meaning at best I can hold a torch and proffer advice (well that's my excuse story and I'm sticking to it  ). And the blinking things won't come off
Ridiculous false nails double as very effective tyre levers.

Do you really want to climb Ditchling on that.....? My Cadenza isn't that heavy, but I'd still rather use the Jetstream (a kilo lighter plus wider gearing). Let alone the Viner (waaaaah!).

Already done Ditchling (without walking) on that bike, though I may have had 28s at the time, not 38s. It also has considerably lower gearing than my Ribble. Then again, User10571's titanium steed has lower gearing than my Ribble!

The bike is a 2006(?) Orbea Elorrio. The current specs say 13.31kg, but shod with M+ in addition to the other extras... a bit heavier. Wow, knew it was heavy but never actually looked at the numbers.

I didn't notice the nails when I saw you this week on the lovely new bike, and I forgot to ask if you are making that chocolate cakey thing we had last year... I think you should:biggrin:

B-b-b-but you're eminently qualified for TEC duties! I've seen pictures of you using your Louboutin-clad feet to finish putting a tyre on a rim. Though I'm not sure you'd want to cycle all the way to Brighton in high-heeled shoes.

<--- Like so  (although these shoes didn't actually do the job very well at all)

Now if only I could figure out a way to attach some cleats....

Choccy stuff is made and currently setting in the fridge ready for Friday

Chocolate? Check
Crispy biscuity goodness? Check
Gooey marshmallow? Check
Fruit? Check (well, glace cherries)
Golden syrup icky added sweetness? Check
And for those that can't wait for the pub to open - alcohol? Check

Don't be surprised if there is not much left by Friday....

Ah. Well, some of us have avatars switched off for browsing while at work. But yes, that's the pic.

Taking the biscuit
Hang on a jolly moment, I've been doing the math and if Ianrauk eats the cake that MacB is carrying then he will surely slow up and MacB will go faster?

This could seriously effect the ride dynamic.

I've been invited to TEC. and to blow my ref's whistle. (which - note to self - I've got to get back down out of the loft) I'm sure Dell asked the wrong Greg you know, all I will be packing is a filthy mouth and a bad attitude.;)

But, as I'll be at the back anyway... limping along... if limping is possible on a bicycle... you can call me Charlie.

As I'm at the back I'm considering riding the heavy bike. It has the following things to recommend it:

  • ...
  • Marathon+ tyres (38s)
...

Which reminds me, after Adamski, Flying Dodo and my trip from Nottingham last weekend, I need to swap the Grand Prix 4 Seasons back over to Marathon Supremes. They're not half as light and easy rolling, but a damned sight more bomb proof, and it would be embarrassing to suffer a visit from the fairy myself!

Sounds like the hon. Greg and myself 'Tecsquadding' derriere, Tim - not your tyres...It'll be a toss up what is creaking the most - the 'bunch' or the knee/limb collection at the rear! ;)

Banananananana loaf is cooking.

Rear light has been bought and fiitted.

Wallet has been dropped outside LBS, unnoticed by me.

Call has been received from LBS man, telling about one of the above.

Horley Cycle Centre, up by the Kings Head. We could detour there on FridaySaturday and pay homage.

Meanwhilst, tomorrow Mrs. Hall and I go to another LBS (Ahead Cycles in Crawley) to collect her new shiny Cycle to Work Scheme steed. V. excited.
