I have 3 spare, with bike reservations, for the 10:56 departure, good to Clapham Junction.

I have booked myself on the 9.37 from Barnham and also the 14.03 (in case I get led astray into a world of drinking!)

However, I didn't get a bike reservation because the Southern Rail website said

"Please note it is only possible to reserve bicycle space if you reserve seats. Cycle reservations are not available on Southern services"

Can someone clarify, what the score is on these bike reservations that people have. Do they mean anything, will I be left on the platform if everyone else has one, but I don't.

You'll be fine without a reservation. I've only ever got bike reservations when ordering online, but you never get them if you just turn up and buy a ticket at the station.
