Hmm.

Do I join the sweatfest of the Dun Run, with the hassles of getting lost finding the start, uncertain refreshments enroute, little prospect of BEER at the end and questionable transport back?

Or do I join this, with its delectable halfway stop, (possible) charming company, cheap tickets back to civilisation (Hi TC!) ... and the promise of a beer festival!?

No contest really: please add my name to the list, Dell.

Hi Simon, can you put me down for this one as tentative but hopeful please? I'll have to get MiL down most likely, but it'll be worth it.

Doesn't have to be either / or, Andrew - you could do both!
And there was beer in the Cyclechat marquee last year!

Not surprised ! 47:59 ? Making the most of your time in Shropshire then ?
Thanks for your most kind words Pete. I would explain but it's all here, even the photographic evidence of what 100 miles on foot will do to a body that is 57 years old:

Now, back to the Southern Railway website..... or maybe it'll be easier to make friends with La Claud, d'ye think?

I'd like to point out that I have never ever been rude to her, unlike some others, who have been known to over-book on the Fat Boy Breakfast front......

edit - Holy cow! almost a tenner to get back to That London and a whole nine squids just to get to Redhill. I can get almost a whole Fat Boy Breakfast for that!

Nice report on your walk, Martin, my feet are aching just reading about it, I might be as tempted to do equally pointless things when I'm as old as you!
( Frank, always ready for a challenge, is working on '365 breakfasts around the UK' - he just needs a bit of egging on...)

Martin, just read your account of the walk. Well done!

When I read 47:59 in an earlier post I have to admit to wondering what it meant. I could only think that you might have been time trialling, and was extremely impressed by what would have been a very quick 25-mile time - but am not less so to find out what it really stands for!

Hope you got a decent breakfast after that!

somebody's going to have to tell me what a 'bff' is. I'm sure 'big' is in there somewhere. And 'fighs'.
