Pebble Hill, huh? I wrote off my pride and joy (fully restored classic convertible - car, that is) coming down that hill one dark night 8 years ago.

So what's different this time? Pitch dark - check. Same speed? 40mphish?! - um, okay, check.

But, oh wait, this time it's............ head first!! with rim brakes?????!!!

That screaming noise will be me.
20 will do nicely, young Rebecca! If not 15.....

I did try to get some sleep before the ride last week, it just didn't work out out of excitement for the ride . There was never a chance of getting Good Friday off work, but it'll work out. I did even think of arriving in London and getting 1-2hrs sleep at Sittingduck's house or someone like that but he's not going. Perhaps I should camp out under the Arch.

I think the problem with these rides is I get tired just as it hits the long drawn out flat bits where everybody races off into the distance .

Mike e said I'd get used to them - I have, I now know which half an hour stints I'll fall asleep on and when I'll speed up!

Seems like a few people will be in need of 'marin aiding' by early Saturday morning then...

Last year was fine because in the closing stages people were riding in a massive pack, I felt very tired and getting a nice tow just letting things tick along and I hear 'keep up, Paul' from someone on his 6kg piece of space rock . The bright blazing sunshine to keep people awake at Bognor looks like it might be repeated.

Are you saying you want a tow from my 12kg tourer instead ?

For those riders returning to The Great Wen, the Great Bojos great Sat will be under way from about thirteen o'clock.

Here's Kenneth Branagh giving the pre-ride talk, although he nearly falls off his horse, Colnago, at the end. "Cry Bollards! for Harry, England, and Saint George!"

Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more.

That must have been before he became boring and Swedish then..... Dell, any plans to become Scandinavian?

Looks like a nice long list of people.

My train is booked so i will be at Padington about 22:45 (From Slough). Hope to see you all there and have a chat with all of you throughout the night and morning. Looking forward to this ride, should be a good laugh.

Aaaaahhhh!!

Bognor FNRttC is nearly upon us. And it's my favourite. So much so that I am forsaking a Chelsea match to attend.

. just letting ya know like.

And for those that have not done a Bognor FNRttC then you will be in for a treat. Especially with the great weather predicted...

Oh yes. watch out. The Cycle Chat Bromley Massive will be in full effect. All 3 of us.
