As I mentioned, Frank - wipeout!

Fastest two or three... Thom, Matt and Ed perhaps? Matt is a Barrymachine. Thom is stepping up his marathon training... they press on the pedals and 'Boom!'

I'm pretty sure big Martin was there when I got there (if he was on the ride he would have been!) and McW may have been too, and probably Thom (again if he was on the ride he would have been). Maybe there were others who had already showered and changed...? I remember my target was to reel in DavyW!

Whitstable Council need to put a road hump in somewhere along the run-in - the incline will slow him down sufficiently...

Oh, am being talked about...

Well, one thing that wont slow me down is road humps.. However, I have no intention to be top dog again if theres no serisous competition... and Ill be more than happy to way mark that final turn, as ill be tryin to save my energy for Quick E Marts charity ride.... However.... IF we have a tail wind and Franks wishes to play with the big boy thighs, again, then bring it on!

High pressure not going anywhere
The middle of June will bring more good news for the sun-seekers amongst you as high pressure remains in charge. That means just about everyone has dry, warm and sunny weather in store with that much-needed rain nowhere in sight.

If it holds anybody interested in saving a little energy and avoiding the ticket office jobsworth and cycling on to Europe? Late lunch in Dover, Cheap ferry to Dunkirk, crash at Formule1 with a possible Sunday ride to the nearest bar in Belgium ... back to Dover and train to be in bed by midnight?

No commitment, just pack a passport & credit card.

An intriguing thought!

You know that I would be interested, but can't do this year.

Why not cycle to Westvleteren, just over 30km. Sample the best beer in the world, and not available anywhere in the world.

"Westvleteren Trappist is sold only to individual customers. Every customer agrees not to re-sell the beer to any third party."

The cafe next to the abbey does serve the trappist beer, however.

Recce at 06:30? I only see 06:30 from one direction. Usually heading towards a cider at the coast.

Really looking forward to this ride; if the weather is like it was today, then we'll be laughing. See you all soon!

I remember chasing down a few people until I had Thom in my sights... but, try as I might, I just couldn't catch him. Then Mistral breezed past me with a gentle "whoosh"! I think Martin got in just after us.

So... if you'd like to have an epic battle with Thom and Mistral, that'll leave me clear to claim the honours after you've tired each other out, thanks!
