A quick note to let everyone know how excited the people of Strood are to be providing refreshments for you all on Saturday morning. Well, I say excited when really I mean worried! Having persuaded my darling wife and a few friends to help, the awkward questions started:
So how many are they? What time will they arrive? Over what period of time will they be arriving? How long are they staying? What sort of food do they like? Are they all as mad as you? etc. etc.

So I have had to explain what I know. There could be 119 people, but it will probably be less, but the exact number will depend on the weather forecast. Everyone will most likely arrive within about 5 minutes, although we won't know exactly when because it will depend on the wind direction and p***ture fairy visitations and various other unspecified factors and yes they are all a little mad. The good news is that they will all be ravenously hungry and grateful and may even complain we aren't charging enough.

I have also enlisted the support of several keen bakers, so homemade cakes will be on offer in addition to filled rolls, coffee, tea, soft drinks.

Looking forward to seeing you all in the early hours of Saturday.

Semi Skinned milk for the tea please Tim... none of that skimmed rubbish,.... Ta

^_^
it's not Starbucks you know. But you're in luck cos that's what's on offer. Interestingly the Medway Towns is the largest conurbation in the UK without a Starbucks or a Waitrose.

:stop: you cannot be serious! User10571 promised me that there was a Waitrose when he first suggested going to Whitstable!

Ten minutes should cover it. The front will be going hell for leather for the last few miles. We're down to 115 now. I reckon we'll be there about 3.40, but I'll call ahead.

No need for a Starbucks when we can have a Timbuckstoo?
Sounds as though one of the riders has grounds for complaint about his hot drink tasting of shampoo...'Tim O tea'
Slightly disturbed about your use of the word 'charging' though - I thought the 'halfway' stops were always free?
But, I will buy some cakes - it would be Strood not to...Thanks Tim - Superman...the clerk of Kent edifice.

It wasn't. There is one in Canterbrie and another in Ramsgate.
Unfortunately I'd mistaken what used to be the Co-op and is now Morrisons in Faversham (why does a town like Faversham need three massive supermarkets?) for a Waitrose

He may have spoken the truth, for Whistable is not a Medway town and the better sort there go to Canterbury to do their shopping in the lovely Waitrose, just up the road from the Rupert Bear Museum.
