Ive previously posted That Im getting back into cycling and have started to commute to and from work. My commute is only 1.5 miles but Ive been taking different routes and try to make the commute between 5 and 6 miles. I work shifts, Nights lates and earlies so quite often its dark. My rear light is quiet bright but my front one seems a little inadequate , Ive seen this one on ebayhttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Moon-X-POWER-600-Rechargeable-FRONT-Bike-Light-XP600-Black-LAA508-/311443186468?hash=item488375e324
and wondered what peoples thoughts are. This is probably at the top of the price Id like to pay. Are there any alternatives that you could recommend in a similar price range.

Hi!
I work shifts too, commute 5 miles each way.
In 4 years my experience has been this: stay clear of torch style lights, as the handlebars vibrations soon makes them acquire a mind of their own.
In your price range I like the Cat Eye range.
Now, I got 2 old style Cat Eye cubes that operate on batteries, and a Cay Eye Volt 100 usb rechargeable, both kinds available at under your budget.
I have also seen the Cat Eye 300 on a friend's bike, awesome for urban riding, even too bright, that will be my next purchase.
I find the battery operated lights more convenient than the usb rechargeable one, sometimes after a shift I don't want to power up the laptop just to charge a light. Both usb and battery operated last about 90 minutes, I normally carry a spare charged light, used to carry spare batteries when I had only the one light.
The one you linked to should be fine even on stretches of unlit road, if you are not riding too fast.
Point it slightly downwards to see, maybe also have a few cheap ones like these to be seen and as backup.

I like the look of that. Good reviews on Amazon too.

Seems legit.
Of course it's legit, a good offer compared to other retailers for a powerful light. Good retailer too, no need to deal with Chinese eBay retailers

I was just getting off a train hence the brief post, and I'd forgotten about it! It was to provide a good offer to the OP

And I've just seen its the self same offer as the link in the OP! So yes, go for it

My reply was to the recommendation for the cheapo Chinese ebay job.

Your link is fine
