FSA BB change to Shimano BB

Hi,

My bike has a FSA Gossamer road chainset and FSA 6000 BB to match.

Can I change the BB (cups) to say Shimano 105 without any problems or will it be a bit of a bodge job?

I think the BB-6000 dimensions are Shimano compatible so you should be fine. However, FSA do say that their MegaExo BBs/cranks are not compatible with anything else. Certainly I ended up having to replace both FSA cranks (SLK carbon) and BB (made of cheese) in order to upgrade to a decent Hope BB. Worth a bit of Googling I think...

Do you know which way round those tiny thin 'washers'/o-rings go on? They are not the same both ways round!

Exactly. TheBB-6000 is OK, the BB-8000 isn't.

A lot of people on t'Interweb consider the FSA BBs to be rather poor quality. I managed only 1,000 miles out of my one before I switched to Shimano cranks and Hope BB.

I have FSA gossamer cranks & after my 2nd BB went I changed to Shimano Dura Ace Hollowtech with no problems
