Think we need to rethink our winter harvest plans, as we only have jerusalem artichokes this time of year. Hopefully they'll soon be finished!

Can anyone identify this tree type and how to get rid of them. They pop up everywhere in the garden but some have grown to 10-15 ft and are creating shaded sections on the grass. Also don't want them close to the house as the insurance company has an issue with trees and proximity.

Ask a local tree surgeon to cut them down and grind out the stumps for you. I've had that done and that's been it for the tree, nothing has grown back. Get a few quotes as well first as prices vary.

The sleepers for our raised veg plot have almost rotted out.
Planning on replacing with pallet collars which have had first coat of creosote applied .

Anyone know if creosote can be used in a fence sprayer thingy?
