Garmin 705 -100 waypoint limit

I downloaded a long ride someone else had put onto a website as a GPX file but when I went to navigate the ride it wouldn't let me as it had more than 100 waypoints. Is there a way of getting around this problem and still navigate the route?

Load it into the Garmin Mapsource first. I find some downloaded route don't work.

I'm no expert - had mine 18 months and still learning about it !!!

Thanks Fossyant, I've only had mine a few months and something new crops up each time I go out on a ride.

Open it up in Bikeroutetoaster and remove the waypoints and use course points instead as you can have 1000s of them istead (I think its 1000's anyway), and then upload into the Edge
