Garmin decision help

This year, I'm increasingly trying to cycle further afield and so would like to upgrade my GPS systems (currently have an Edge 500) to get me to the position where I can follow maps.

I think I have two options (I like my data!!);

1) Buy a Garmin 810 to do both functions.
Pro; one bit of kit
Con; expense relative to (2)

2) Buy a Garmin touring and use in conjunction with the 500.

Pros and cons pretty much the opposite of (1).

Which would you advise I do?

I like having cadence and heart rate to be honest. Speed from a sensor is nicer than GPS derived too.

Would add extra clutter to your bars is a con you missed :rolleyes:

As above sell the 500 and buy the 810.

If you need more than the touring offers then get the 810 or better. Been thinking about getting one but battery life is more the issue for me. The touring does do HR well the touring plus one does.
