Put maps on the Edge 500 and don't spend a penny.

How would one do that?

@vickster, that agrees with what I'd read so I was curious. I'm just fed up stopping to check my phone!!
Halfords have the 810 for £230 but you have to either use open source maps or buy them. Presumably you can use the HRM and cadence whatsit from the 500

Don't expect perfect directions, I have the 800 with official maps and it wil throw a complete wobbly from time to time when directing. Better than nowt though

Cheers, that's not too bad tbh. Very tempted to just buy it now!

Open source maps are fine to my mind. I use them to plot the routes most of the time!

Not a British Cycling member yet but the saving would pay for it if you know what I mean.
Yes as mentioned, you may not be able to get it. But worth having the membership anyhow even if not

Edit, looks like you can click and collect and pay in store, so in theory you should be able to get the discount when you show your membership at the till
