Garmin Touring will not turn on

Hi Folks,

I have a 3 year old Garmin Touring which I haven't used since last September. Today I tried to turn it on, but it seemed dead so I charged it back up to 100% [I could see this charge gauge on the screen, so the screen must be working]. However, even with 100% and the software/maps updated it still refuses to turn on. I press the on/off button and the other button as many times as I feel like, but nothing at all appears on the screen.

I am a bit of a loss as to what to do. Obviously the guarantee has expired so I am feeling rather low about the whole thing .. any ideas ?

Have you tried this?

To reset the Garmin device, turn off the device by pressing the power button on the top of the device. When the unit is off, press your finger to the bottom right corner of the screen and continue holding while pressing the power button. A prompt will appear on the screen confirming data reset. Click
